Evan Gilyard stands out as Player of the Tournament in Singapore

Evan Gilyard’s outstanding performance leads to him being named the Player of the
Tournament in the Singapore circuit.

There should be no surprise that Gilyard would immediately shine for the Saigon Heart as he’s
always played at a high level in the NCAA D1 level with UTEP, New Mexico State, and Kansas
City. He also attended the prestigious Simeon Career Academy which had produced NBA
players like Derrick Rose, Kendrick Nunn, and Talen Horton Tucker.

At the Singapore circuit, Gilyard ended up leading all players in assists (26) and made three-
pointers (16), while also being among top 5 in scoring with 97 points. He’s averaging a very
healthy stat line of 24.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 37.8
percent from the three-point line on 10.8 attempts per game.

Aside from the pure numbers, Gilyard has been the clutch performer for the Heat both as a
facilitator and scorer. He has already made a heroic impression among Saigon Heat fans with
his clutch three-point shot against NS Matrix Matrix, which was a result of a play-of-the-year
worthy crossover that left his defender in the dust.
